About Sung Chang

Pianist Sung Chang is internationally recognized for his outstanding technical artistry, musical depth, and expressive performances. He has appeared as a soloist and recitalist across the United States, Europe, and Asia, performing in renowned venues including Walt Disney Hall, the Concertgebouw, and Seoul Arts Center. A graduate of the USC Thornton School of Music, he studied under acclaimed pianist Jeffrey Kahane and has received top prizes in numerous international piano competitions.

 

In addition to his career as a performer, Sung Chang is deeply passionate about music education and community engagement. He currently serves as Music Director of Fernweh Music Foundation and conductor/music director of the Beethoven Project Orchestra in Orange County, California.

 

As Artistic Director of IYO, Sung Chang hopes to inspire young musicians to grow not only as performers, but also as thoughtful artists and leaders through the power of music.
